The Department of Philosophy at Oakland University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning August 15, 2021,
renewable with administrative approval for up to four years. Area of research specialization: Open. Area of teaching competence: Logic.
We are especially interested in candidates who are willing to teach sections of "Introduction to Logic” and “Introduction to Symbolic Logic.” Candidates must demonstrate experience
with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Candidates will provide a Diversity Statement that describes their interest or efforts in furthering diversity and inclusion, e.g., through mentoring,
pedagogy, activism, faculty recruitment/retention, or research on issues related to diversity and social inequality.
PhD in Philosophy by August 15, 2021 is required for appointment at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor.
