The Department of Philosophy and Classics at the University of Regina invites applications for a one-year term position in philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor.

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include teaching five philosophy courses. Among these will be Introduction to Philosophy, Critical Thinking, and Knowledge and Reality.
Area of specialization is open. Ability to teach a wide range of courses in the context of a small department is an asset.
We would particularly value candidates who could teach courses in ancient philosophy or ethics, particularly biomedical ethics and/or professional ethics.

Review of applications will begin 15 May 2020. The anticipated date of commencement is 1 August 2020, with an end date of 31 July 2021.

It is expected that the successful candidate will have a PhD in philosophy, though ABD with a firm completion date may be considered.
Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated excellence in teaching philosophy at the university level in at least one of the courses listed above.
The Department has an interest also in seeking candidates who have experience teaching at the intermediate or upper-level in philosophy at the university level.
Given the circumstances surrounding the current pandemic, proven ability and evidence of experience in offering courses through remote learning may be a further asset.
