The Department of Philosophy at The University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver Campus, invites applications for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track position).
AOS: History of Modern Philosophy (circa 1500-1800). AOC: Open.
We welcome applications from philosophers who specialize in any aspect of the early modern period, Renaissance through Kant.
A Ph.D. in Philosophy prior to taking up the position is required. Start date: July 1, 2020.

The successful applicant will be expected to maintain an active research program in the history of philosophy, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate
courses in the history of philosophy, and supervise Ph.D. dissertations in the history of philosophy. The standard teaching load is four one-semester courses annually (2-2).
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The UBC Department of Philosophy is an outstanding mid-size department with numerous research and teaching strengths.
It is located in the Faculty of Arts, which includes many departments regarded as leaders in Canada and ranked in the top 20 or 30 in the world.
