Trent University invites applications for a tenure-track appointment in the Department of Philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning July 1, 2019.
The position is subject to budgetary approval.
Candidates are expected to have a completed Ph.D. by the time of appointment, demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level,
and an active program of high-quality original research.
The successful candidate will specialize in the Philosophy of Mind and/or Philosophy of Cognitive Science and/or Philosophy of Psychology
with the ability to teach courses cross-listed with other departments, including Psychology.
Though the area of competence is open, the department has interest in increasing the diversity of our course offerings in areas such as feminism, critical race theory,
and Indigenous philosophy and in areas that move beyond the traditional, Western canon.

All faculty contribute service to the department. The Philosophy Department offers a broad-based curriculum in Philosophy.
