The Department of Philosophy at John Carroll University seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor, starting the fall of 2019.
The position is initially for one year, with a possibility of renewal up to three years.

AOC: Philosophy of Religion.

Ability to teach one or more of the following would be an advantage: Epistemology, Metaphysics, Applied Ethics (Bioethics, Medical or Environmental Ethics),
Philosophy of Race, Postcolonial Studies, Non-Western Philosophies. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a 4/4 load, including philosophy courses
that fulfill requirements in Catholic Studies and courses for non-majors that support the University’s Integrative Core Curriculum.

Applicants are required to submit: (i) a cover letter, detailing how they can contribute to the JCU philosophy curriculum and Catholic Studies program,
(ii) CV, (iii) contact information for at least three references (at least one of which comments on teaching experience and expertise), (iv) unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts,
(v) a writing sample, and (vi) a single, combined document including both a statement of teaching experience and interests and a statement of research interests.
Items (v) & (vi) must be combined as singled document and uploaded under the “Portfolio” heading.
Review of applications will begin on April 15th, 2019, and will continue until the position is filled. Initial interviews will be conducted via Skype.
