Wellesley College, one-year visiting lectureship, philosophy

Nov 08, 2018 Dec 01, 2018

A total of 5 courses over two semesters, at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum.
The AOS is social and political philosophy, broadly construed. Also open to candidates in moral theory whose teaching connects with social and political themes.
The ability to teach courses in at least 2 of the following areas is essential: introductory political philosophy, global justice, inequality, philosophy of law, or moral psychology.
Applicants who could teach some courses that address issues surrounding race, gender, class, or disability are particularly welcome.

Applicants must hold or be about to receive the Ph.D. Wellesley College is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity and quality of the academic community
through their research, teaching, and service. The philosophy department strongly encourages applications from members of groups under-represented in the discipline.
Wellesley College is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer, and we are committed to increasing the diversity of the college community and the curriculum.
Candidates who believe they can contribute to that goal are encouraged to apply.
A complete application will include:
1. a cover letter that explains your AOS qualifications, research interests, and teaching experience
2. a CV
3. a graduate transcript
4. a sample of scholarly work
5. evidence of teaching excellence (e.g. a list of courses the candidate would be interested in teaching; sample syllabi or course outlines; student evaluations; teaching statement)
