The Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies interdisciplinary program at DePauw University invites applications for a one-year post-doctoral position
to begin in August 2018.
Ph.D (by time of appointment) in Women's, Gender, and/or Sexuality Studies is preferred, though applicants who hold a graduate certificate or degree in a related
field are welcome to apply. Area of specialization is open, but we are especially interested in candidates whose teaching or research complements existing strengths
in the program by incorporating transnational feminisms, masculinity, queer, and/or trans studies, ecofeminism or environmental justice, or disability studies.
We seek a scholar-teacher who applies an intersectional lens to all aspects of teaching, from course development to classroom management, and who can facilitate
lively discussion, demonstrate a commitment to students, and create an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment. The teaching load is four courses for the
academic year (two per semester). The candidate will offer an Introduction to Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies course and a 200 or 300 level topics course
of their choice each semester.
Preference given to candidates who can teach a course focused on Queer Theory/Introduction to Sexuality Studies or Transnational Feminisms.
Candidates must have experience teaching the Introduction to Women’s, Gender and Sexuality studies course and at least one topics course and application materials
should demonstrate a proven record of excellence in teaching.
