Drawing on diverse traditions, the Philosophy Department aims to integrate the study of perennial philosophical questions with contemporary approaches and problems.
Promise of high quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, research and publication; service to the department and the university.
Initial teaching load of 2/2 for first three years; then reviewed primarily according to research productivity. Normal teaching load five courses.
Teaching load includes University common core, lower and upper division electives, and graduate courses as well as active participation in B.A. M.A. and Ph.D. programs.
Ability to contribute to interdisciplinary teaching and/or research in emerging University programmatic interests in Race and Ethnic Studies will be an asset.

AOS Non-western Philosophy; AOC open but we have special interest in candidates who can teach environmental philosophy.
“Non-western philosophy” is broadly understood to include but not be limited to Asian/Asian-American philosophy; Latinx philosophy; indigenous philosophy, etc.
