Centre de recherche en éthique (CRÉ) , University of Montreal, Visiting research fellow

Oct 04, 2016 Jan 31, 2017

The Centre de recherche en éthique (CRÉ) invites applications for its visiting research fellow programme for the period of September 1st, 2017 to May 31st, 2018. The length of the stay can vary depending on the dossier and the kind of research envisaged.

The mission of the CRÉ is to contribute to research in ethics and to the quality of graduate training in all fields of ethics from meta-ethics to applied questions.

We encourage applications from researchers working on themes related to the research axes of the CRÉ: meta-ethics and moral psychology, ethics and politics, ethics and economics, ethics and the environment, ethics and health. We also admit applications from other disciplines, provided their research is directly linked to questions in ethics.

The fellowship for visiting research fellows varies with the length of the stay and with the circumstances (e.g. salary loss during the stay). The selected candidates will have access to an office and perhaps, depending on the agreement, to the infrastructure of the Université de Montréal (libraries, gym, etc.). CRÉ staff will assist them in planning their stay.

In return, the visiting research fellows will conduct their research project as submitted, participate in the academic activities of the centre (conferences, workshops & seminars), and present their work in progress at the centre.

The CRÉ is a bilingual institution. Candidates must have sufficient knowledge of the French and English language to be able to participate in the activities of the centre.

Applications will be evaluated according to the following criteria: the nature and quality of the research project and its relevance to the mission of the CRÉ; the quality of previous research by the applicant; potential benefits to the applicant from a stay at the centre.

Candidates should send the following documents to the CRÉ:
The form to be found here;
A Curriculum Vitae;
An outline of your research project description (1500 words max.);
An article published during the last three years;
Two letters of reference (sent directly to CRÉ before the deadline).

The deadline for applications is January 31st, 2017.

Please send your dossier, by email, to Valéry Giroux, CRÉ coordinator, at : Giroux.
If you do not receive acknowledgment within three days following your submission, please contact the coordinator at (514) 343-6111 #2958.
