The Department of Women’s Studies at California State University, Sacramento is seeking applications for a full-time (academic year), tenure track assistant professor position starting Fall 2017. This faculty member will teach introductory courses and advanced seminars in Feminist, Women’s and Gender Studies. Preference will be given to candidates whose specialization within feminist studies includes one or more of the following areas: healthcare, public health services, medicalized bodies, reproductive justice, critical disability studies, public policy, poverty, and economics, examined through an intersectional lens of race/class/sexuality.

Duties and Responsibilities: teach a wide range of courses in Women’s Studies, such as Introduction to Women’s Studies, Introduction to the Women’s Movement and Seminar in Feminist Theory; propose and teach courses in area of specialization, supervise students in independent study and fieldwork courses, engage in research, scholarship and community service, involve in student advising, recruiting majors and work as an integral member of the Department, actively contributing to curriculum and department building.

*Required Qualifications: *Ph.D. in Women’s Studies or a related Social Science discipline with a strong background in Women’s Studies. ABD candidates will be considered. If, ABD, candidates will be required to complete the doctoral degree by January 2018.
