Dalhousie University, Halifax, Dept of Philosophy Killam Postdoctoral Fellowship

Nov 12, 2015 Dec 18, 2015

The Department of Philosophy at Dalhousie University invites applications for Killam Postdoctoral Fellowships. Currently valued at $55,000 per year (tenable for a two-year period), these fellowships include both a research ($3000) and a conference travel ($1000) allowance. To be eligible, applicants should have received their PhDs within the past two years. Those who are still working on their degrees may apply before it is complete, but should note that in order to take up the fellowship they must complete all requirements of their doctorate first.

The competition for these fellowships is university-wide and it is very keen. To be successful, a candidate must have a particularly strong academic record as well as a well-defined research program that would benefit from affiliation with the Dalhousie Philosophy Department. Interested candidates may obtain detailed information about this program and application forms here: Information.

As part of their applications, candidates are asked to include a letter of support from the proposed supervisor with whom the candidate hopes to work. Candidates are responsible for contacting potential supervisors for support. Information about the research interests of members of the Department of Philosophy at Dalhousie University can be found at: Philosophy.

Completed applications should be submitted in hard copy to the Department of Philosophy. Please ensure that all application materials, including undergraduate and graduate transcripts and letters of support, are received in the Department of Philosophy by December 15th, 2015.

Address: Department of Philosophy, Dalhousie University, PO Box 15000, Halifax, NS, B3H 4R2.
