The Department of Philosophy at Temple University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment, beginning Fall 2015, in AOS: Ethics (broadly construed) AOC: open, but philosophy of race and/or gender is preferred, to begin in Fall Semester 2015.

Candidates must hold a PhD by July 1, 2015 or shortly thereafter. Candidates must demonstrate excellence in, and commitment to, both research and teaching. The normal teaching load for research-active faculty is two courses per semester. Dissertation supervision and service responsibilities are also expected.

Candidates should include a cover letter, CV, research statement, writing sample, teaching statement, evidence of teaching excellence, and three confidential letters of recommendation. Salary and benefits are competitive. For information about the department, please see Philosophy
