The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Ball State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Philosophy, effective Aug. 2015. 3-3 teaching load, usually two preparations per semester.
We seek a philosopher with a passion for innovative, learner-centered teaching. AOS: Applied Ethics. AOC: BioEthics, Environmental Philosophy, or Philosophy of Science.
Required qualifications: (a) PhD in Philosophy prior to start date, (b) evidence of research productivity, and (c) evidence of teaching effectiveness. Preferred qualifications: (i) Earned doctorate in Philosophy at time of application, (ii) ability to contribute to STEM grantsmanship, (iii) competency in one or more of the following—Bioethics, Environmental Philosophy, or Philosophy of Science, and (iv) demonstrated potential to excel in mentoring non-majority students, inclusive pedagogy, and diversity issues.
