The Department of Philosophy at the University of Washington in Seattle invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track, full-time, 9 months, Department of Philosophy, beginning September 2015. Area of Specialization: Medical Ethics. Area of Competence: Open.

The successful candidate will be named the Benjamin Rabinowitz Assistant Professor in Medical Ethics. Normal course load is four courses per year over three quarters, ranging from introductory undergraduate to graduate level (with the opportunity to teach online courses). Suitable candidate must be prepared to teach a large lecture medical ethics course. Duties include dissertation supervision and departmental and university service. Candidates must have Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in philosophy, prior to appointment. Salary and benefits competitive.
