Tenure Track Faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning on 09-01-2014

Responsibilities include a 3/3 teaching load; teaching undergraduate courses in an area of Non-Western Social and Political Philosophy or Philosophy of Human Rights or Environmental Philosophy; engaging in research and other scholarly activities; participating in departmental and college service; providing academic advisement.

PhD in Philosophy by time of appointment; college-level teaching experience; Area of Specialization (AOS) - an area of Non-Western Social and Political Philosophy or Philosophy of Human Rights or Environmental Philosophy. Preferred qualifications: Area of Competence (AOC) - Feminist Philosophy and/or Philosophy of Law

The Philosophy Department at SUNY Cortland offers a major and minor in Social Philosophy and a minor in Peace and Conflict Studies. It houses a Center for Ethics, Peace and Social Justice, a book series in Social Philosophy, and research in philosophical practice.
