The Department of Philosophy in the Faculty of Arts and Science at the University of Toronto invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in the History of Modern Philosophy (17th and 18th centuries, including Kant) at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin on July 1, 2014.
Candidates must hold a PhD by July 1, 2014, or shortly thereafter, and must demonstrate excellence in, and commitment to, both research and teaching. The successful candidate will have the ability to teach a broad range of courses from the introductory to advanced levels, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The University of Toronto, Department of Philosophy is a tri-campus graduate department, consisting of all philosophy faculty appointed to the St. George, Mississauga (UTM), and Scarborough (UTSC) campuses. Graduate teaching and supervision typically take place on the St. George campus.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
