The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in Moral and Political Philosophy. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will begin July 1, 2014.

Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the position, with the area of concentration being open. An interest in and ability to teach bioethics is a high priority. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Philosophy by the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Applicants must demonstrate excellence in both research and teaching.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The University of Toronto has three campuses, Scarborough (UTSC), Mississauga and St. George, each with its own Department of Philosophy. UTSC is strongly committed to maintaining a research-intensive home for its faculty and students. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a program of research that furthers the academic mission of the Department of Philosophy at the UTSC.
