SUNY Geneseo, Geneseo, NY. The Department of Philosophy and the Women's Studies Program invite applications for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Women’s Studies, beginning August, 2014.
Required Qualifications: PhD in Philosophy in the latter stages of completion (Completed PhD in Philosophy strongly preferred); Evidence of ability to contribute to Women’s Studies (e.g., significant graduate coursework, research in some related field, teaching experience, or a graduate certificate in Women’s Studies).
AOS: open, but person must be prepared to teach in areas of Social, Political, and Feminist Philosophy. AOC: Social/Political Philosophy, Feminist Theory, and at least some of the following: Business Ethics, Logic, Philosophy of Law, Aesthetics. The successful candidate will teach six semester courses per year (with one course release the first year); two of these courses will be for the College’s interdisciplinary minor in Women’s Studies, including one or more required courses (Introduction to Women's Studies; Gender and Sexualities; Race, Class and Gender). Additional courses will contribute to the Philosophy Department’s curriculum, as well as the College’s General Education program (particularly courses in Western Humanities).
