UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN, Edinburg, TX. DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY & PHILOSOPHY -- ASSISTANT PROFESSOR (F12/13-023).
The Department of History and Philosophy at the University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) is seeking a versatile candidate with interdisciplinary interests with a PhD in Philosophy. The department prefers candidates with specialization in Nineteenth and Twentieth Century Philosophy, Mexican-American Studies and/or Religious Studies. A Ph.D. in Philosophy is required prior to start date in Fall, 2013. The candidate must demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and for research and publication. UTPA is a 19,000 student campus within the University of Texas system located in a sub-tropical Rio Grande Valley community of 750,000+, an hour’s drive from the Gulf Coast and some twenty miles north of the Mexican border. Salary and benefits are competitive and living costs are among the lowest in the United States.
