The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position, appointment beginning July 1, 2013. AOS: The Department has particular needs in Bioethics, Continental Philosophy, Epistemology, and Metaphysics. The Department also contributes required courses to the Interdisciplinary MA program in Bioethics & Medical Humanities http://louisville.edu/bioethicsma; the successful candidate must be able and willing to contribute significantly to this Bioethics program. The Department prefers candidates who actively engage with feminist work in their scholarship and/or teaching. AOC: Ethics. Teaching responsibilities include both graduate and undergraduate courses; normally 5 classes per academic year. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain an active research and publication program and to participate in faculty self-governance.
All requirements for Ph.D. in philosophy must be completed by June 30, 2013.
