The Women's Studies Program at Brooklyn College of the City University of New York, invites applications for a Visiting Endowed Chair in Women's Studies at the Associate or Full Professor rank (Job ID# 4645) beginning in Fall 2012. This is a one-year appointment for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Endowed Chair will teach and advise students in four (4) courses for the year including the introductory Women's Studies course each semester, and two courses in her/his specialty. The ideal candidate should share the commitment of the faculty in building the visibility of the Program by organizing workshops, lecture series, and public discussions that involve students, faculty, and community members. All appointments are subject to financial availability.
Qualifications include a doctoral degree in any discipline, but with a
well-established feminist teaching and research agenda. We are seeking a
candidate who can bring an expertise gained from teaching and
researching gender and feminist issues from a position of inclusivity.
Candidates with a global/international/transnational perspective on
these issues and a commitment to activism as especially encouraged to
apply.
COMPENSATION: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
