Cognitive Science

Applications are invited for a tenure-stream position to commence July 1, 2012, at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the area of Cognitive Science, broadly understood to include philosophy of psychology and empirically informed philosophy of mind. Applicants must have a PhD in Philosophy and evidence of excellence or promise of excellence in scholarly research and teaching and research interests in cognitive science. Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in the area. The Department of Philosophy houses a thriving undergraduate program in Cognitive Science and the successful candidate will be expected to play an active role in the program. The successful candidate must be suitable for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. All York University positions are subject to budgetary approval.
