The Women's Studies Department and Sexuality Studies Program of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Iowa are conducting a search for an advanced Associate or Full Professor specializing in the field of feminist theory. The successful candidate will help build and lead, as chair, a newly reconfigured program: the Department of Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies. The candidate should have a distinguished record of scholarly publication, innovative teaching, as well as skills and interest in academic leadership and administration. The successful candidate should possess expertise in theories of sexual difference and gender, and/or subjectivity, particularly as they intersect with race, class, ethnicity, and nationality. We seek a theorist with strength in the humanities who will bring to our graduate and undergraduate curriculum expertise relating to the specific contributions feminist scholars have made to contemporary thought in their engagement with various strains of critical discourse.
