The Department of Gender, Women's, and Sexuality Studies (GWSS) in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at The University of Iowa seeks applicants for an up to full-time, 1-year non-tenure track visiting assistant professor position beginning August 17, 2022. GWSS administers majors in Social Justice and GWSS as well as several interdisciplinary minors and certificate programs. Our pedagogy is collaborative, engaging, and interdisciplinary, and our program offers undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty an intellectually vibrant and supportive community. GWSS is committed to mentoring and supporting VAPs in their pedagogical, scholarly, and/or community pursuits, in accordance with the VAP’s priorities.

The successful candidate will teach four courses each in the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters. The VAP will have the option of teaching a 4-3 or 3-3 course load, with adjustments to the salary. Courses may include any or all of the following, with opportunities for the VAP to work with existing course material or to shape the courses according to their own areas of expertise.
