The University of Arkansas seeks applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies (P00001249).
The Assistant Professor is full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level beginning in August 2022. We are seeking well-qualified candidates
who can contribute to both our Philosophy and Interdisciplinary Studies undergraduate programs as well as other areas commensurate with their experience,
have strong commitments to interdisciplinary research and collaboration with colleagues across the university, and seek to develop opportunities for engagement with
the surrounding community.

Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related field with interdisciplinary emphasis (ABD will be considered if the applicant will have the Ph.D. by the time of hire).
Graduate coursework or other research experience in Philosophy if the applicant’s PhD is in a field other than Philosophy.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Applied Ethics and/or Social and Political Philosophy (underrepresented areas of research and teaching preferred);
Training in more than one academic methodology; Familiarity with the theory and methods of Interdisciplinary Studies; Experience teaching interdisciplinary courses;
Experience teaching undergraduate courses in Philosophy, particularly introductory-level Ethics; Experience teaching online and integrating technology in teaching;
Experience developing research, pedagogy, and curriculum through collaboration with community agencies and groups or via public-facing projects; Experience working with
diverse populations of learners.
