Guilford College seeks applicants who are passionate about integrating values-based liberal arts education with principled problem solving (PPS) and
community engagement for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy position for the 2022-2023 academic year that may be renewed based on enrollment.

Qualified candidates will have teaching expertise in Ethics, in social-change or other collaborative or contextual models of Leadership, and in Moral Psychology.
Primary teaching duties include teaching an intensive 3-week First Year Seminar in Ethical Leadership and a 12-week introductory course in
Ethics for a cohort of students in our PPS Ethical Leadership Fellows program.

Ideal candidates will also express interest in teaching Applied Ethics courses that contribute to the interdisciplinary programs such as Public Heath,
Computer Information Systems, Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Principled Problem Solving, and/or Environmental Studies.
The position carries a 3/3 teaching responsibility including two 3-week intensive courses; one offered each semester.
