Panel Information Abstract: Many hate crimes appear to be correlated with radical right-wing political movements that vilify “woke-ism,” “gender ideology”, or “cancel culture”. Incidents of backlash and explicit targeting of academics are rising and becoming increasingly mainstream. We aim to understand this moment and brainstorm about what can be done within academia and classrooms.
