Call for CSWIP Symposium Proposals
The Canadian Society Working for Inclusion in Philosophy is invited to present a symposium every year at
the annual CPA conference. In 2026, the Canadian Philosophical Association/L’Association Canadienne de
Philosophie is holding its conference from June 6-9 at Dalhousie University in beautiful, vibrant Halifax,
Nova Scotia. As many of you are aware, FHSS is not holding its annual Congress in 2026, so ACP/CPA
elected to hold an independent, in-person Congress in collaboration with fellow FHSS members: CSHPS
(Canadian Society for the History and Philosophy of Science, CSHPM (Canadian Society for the History
and Philosophy of Mathematics, and CSSPE (Canadian Society for the Study of Practical Ethics).
This is an open invitation to submit proposal ideas for our 2026 CSWIP panel. Topics can involve any area
of philosophy and have some relation to CSWIP’s focus on inclusion. Get creative! Colour outside the
lines! The symposium will be three hours long, and should have 3 or 4 presenters, and a chairperson.
Grad students and philosophers at any career stage are very welcome!
If you have a topic in mind, and would like to organize a panel for our symposium, please reach out to
CSWIP-at-CPA coordinator Rebecca Ring at rring578@yorku.ca. She will help organize and will liaise with
CPA. Even though CSWIP’s panel is invited, the sooner we can present our plan to CPA organizers, the
better.

See you on the East Coast!
