Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies Amherst, an interdisciplinary department in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts at University of Massachusetts Amherst, seeks an Associate Director for its Graduate Program. Appointed at Lecturer rank (non-tenure track, renewable position), the A.D. should have strong administrative skills and experience. Position included 2-2 teach load plus administrative responsibilities for student advising, mentoring, and professional development; recruitment on campus and nationally for the Certificate in Advanced Feminist Studies and for a proposed Ph.D. program. The A.D. is responsible for development and maintenance of the Five College feminist faculty and student network, planning and implementation of events including a credit-bearing lecture series. Some summer work. Doctorate in WGSS-related work required by the hire start date. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to promoting diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives in educational environments. Hiring preferences: strong record in teaching, advising and research; experience in program development and administration, excellent communication skills, including with social media; self-starter with project management experience and ability to work with staff and faculty team.
