The Department of Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor inthe field of Political Theory, beginning September 1, 2014. Candidates are expected to be productive scholars with active research agendas. A typical teaching load is two courses per semester. Candidates should be able to teach a variety of standard survey courses in the history of political thought,including courses in Ancient and Medieval Political Thought. Applicant area of expertise is open. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate teaching and to serving UMass Boston’s vibrant and diverse student population.UMass Boston expects all scholars to explore and obtain available external funding in their field.

All candidates should hold a Ph.D. or assurance of having the Ph.D. in hand by August 2014.
