GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY: The Department of Philosophy is seeking an Assistant Professor for a tenure-track appointment, beginning Fall 2013. AOS: Ethical Theory and History of Modern Philosophy; AOC: 19th century or American or Ancient Philosophy or Bioethics. Basic Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Philosophy or a closely related field or must complete all requirements for the PhD in Philosophy or a closely related field by August 1, 2013. Applicants must show excellent research promise as demonstrated by publications or works in progress, and excellent teaching skills as demonstrated by teaching assessments or references. Normal department service expected.

Applicants are encouraged to submit summaries of teaching evaluations or classroom observations, if available.
Applicants must have three letters of reference sent to GWPHIL. Review of applications will begin November 12, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled. To be eligible for interview at the Eastern Division APA meeting, applications must be received no later than Dec. 10th.
