ILLINOIS INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, CHICAGO, IL. Fay Horton Sawyier Pre-Doctoral Teaching Fellowship in Philosophy. One year fellowship, renewable for a second year, intended for graduate students at the dissertation stage of their studies. Begins August 2013. We are interested in candidates with a research specialty in one of the following areas: philosophy of law, feminist philosophy, or history of analytic philosophy. Ability to teach an upper-level course in applied ethics also highly desirable. Teaching responsibilities typically consist of one upper-level undergraduate philosophy course and one lower-level humanities course each semester. Salary $36,000 per year plus benefits and relocation assistance. Candidates must have completed all the requirements for the Ph.D. except for the dissertation, which they should expect to defend no earlier than the spring semester of 2014.
