Assistant Professor (F09/10-05)

  1. The Department of History and Philosophy at the University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) is seeking an assistant tenure-track professor to begin Fall 2010. The department is searching for someone in the fields of Feminism and/or Kant. Candidates whose work in Feminism and/or Kant reflects an interest in Chicano or Latin American studies are preferred, but not required. The department also has needs in Religious Studies and Professional Ethics. Ph.D. in Philosophy is required prior to start date. To be considered for Assistant Professor the candidate must possess a demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and for research and publication. AOS: American Philosophy (Pragmatism and/or Latin American). AOC: Open, but the Philosophy program seeks to strengthen the areas of Feminism, Kant/Hegel, Religious Studies, and Professional Ethics. Ph.D. in Philosophy is required prior to start date. To be considered for Assistant Professor the candidate must possess a demonstrated potential for teaching excellence and for research and publication. Located in the Rio Grande Valley near the South Texas coast, UTPA is a culturally diverse institution within the University of Texas system.
