The College of New Jersey invites applications for a tenure-track, assistant professor position in Women’s and Gender Studies, starting in Fall 2009. Requirements include a Ph.D. in Women's Studies or Ph.D. in a relevant field with a graduate certificate or equivalent credential in Women’s Studies at the time of employment; a strong commitment to teaching; and a record of scholarship. Research interests may include: regional and global women’s movements, postcolonial and transnational feminisms, or global critical race feminisms, with a strong emphasis on the Global South or indigenous or diasporic communities.

Women’s and Gender Studies is a well established program that offers a major and minor, and is affiliated with a well recognized undergraduate women’s leadership program. Duties of the position include teaching introductory and advanced courses in Women’s and Gender Studies, maintaining a strong record of scholarship, advising and mentoring students, creating new courses, and contributing to interdisciplinary initiatives.

The Women’s and Gender Studies Program is housed within the School of Culture and Society, a liberal arts school devoted to the humanities and social sciences, to interdisciplinary and international study, to research for undergraduates, and to community-engaged learning and community-based research.
